Wade Vienneau
Wade is a Maritimer who moved to Ottawa over 20 years ago and discovered clay after leaving a highly stressful and unfulfilling job in IT. With a supportive partner's encouragement he pursued his formal foundational education at Haliburton School of The Arts. From there he consulted and worked in Mozambique in his private studio as well as the American International School of Mozambique, Maputo, while on posting. Upon my return to Canada he decided to get his Bachelor of Craft and Design from Sheridan College as he wanted a stronger understanding of the materiality of clay and the processes behind making and firing.
Working with artists and craftspeople has been a singularly fulfilling part of his professional and creative development.
He hopes to build his practice around vessels that are designed for communal activities like serving dishes, tea pots, and large bowls. He is also curious about textiles, furniture, and glass as his education at Sheridan College exposed him to many different mediums and methods.
