Lael Morgan

Lael started throwing pottery 30 years ago in her hometown of Georgetown, Ontario. She took a beginner class with her Mom, and that first class quickly turned into a lifelong passion. Lael’s love for clay deepened when she moved to Ottawa, continued to take classes and became a studio potter with the Nepean Visual Arts Center as a dedicated hobbyist. Lael's specialty is the wheel and her favorite thing to work on is creating functional pottery.
Lael absolutely loves teaching and finds it very rewarding. She enjoys seeing the transformation of a student – from sitting down at a wheel for the first time to being able to create their own unique pieces and see their confidence grow by the end of a session! She also considers herself a 'social potter' and believes the social side of a pottery class should never be overlooked - there is something special about being around a community of people who love and want to try art!
