We’re seeking a bubbly, creative, friendly, and motivated Customer Relations and Social Media Coordinator to join our Hintonburg Pottery Studio family full-time!   In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for Hintonburg Pottery customers, providing exemplary customer service by serving all customers promptly and professionally while identifying opportunities to promote merchandise and classes to meet our customer's needs. To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent people and customer service skills, and the ability to wear many hats. You’ll assist the Studio Coordinator and  Studio Manager to ensure operational tasks and procedures are successfully completed while keeping the customer at the center of everything you do! This role does not require previous experience in a pottery studio (though an asset).

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Create a positive customer experience by understanding and meeting their needs quickly and professionally when they enter the studio
  • Responding to customer emails and phone calls in a professional manner
  • Advise customers on our merchandise, classes and workshops 
  • Take the initiative to promote merchandise or courses that meet customers’ needs
  • Take ownership when customers experience a problem and follow the appropriate steps to resolve the issue
  • Process sales transactions and handle cash
  • Lift and move boxes and furniture where required - must be able to move 40lb boxes of clay up and down 1 flight of stairs
  • Using social media platforms, create buzz and customer engagement through the promotion of new products and in-store events.
  • Using Canva to design Facebook and Instagram posts
  • Creating newsletters in Mailchimp
  • Assist with maintaining the store, which includes tasks such as cleaning the store and climbing a ladder to water our many, many plants
  • Assist with displaying products on the shelves 
  • Pack and unpack boxes of clay products that may weigh up to 50 pounds

 

We’ll Be Impressed If You

  • Are reliable, motivated and a self-starter (taking initiative is huge in this role!)
  • Are passionate about pottery
  • Have strong writing skills
  • Are service-oriented, thorough and organized
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Are willing to take the initiative to learn about our products and services
  • Are a team player who enjoys working in a supportive environment
  • Have a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings is required
  • Are fluent in both English and French (bonus points for this one, not a requirement!)
  • Have experience working with Shopify
