Emily is a talented functional potter, possessing a strong foundation in wheel-thrown pieces. She has a growing taste for the freedom offered by handbuilding, and has respect for both technical skills and happy accidents that occur when creating.
Interested in the creative space where control drums up against chaos, Emily believes that letting go when creating is just as important as holding on to the respective technique of one’s art. Emily finds delight in getting her hands truly dirty, as well as finds purpose and a sense of community through one’s individual exploration of clay. She believes in putting a good pot to use and hopes to share her invigorating joy for creating with all who attend her classes.
