Drawing on Clay, Patterns and Forms

PAUSED DUE TO COVID-19
Clay and tools included

Taught by Jessica Bartram, an illustrator and potter, this class will guide you through hand building functional vessels and decorating them with engraved lines drawings, which will be glazed using Mishima techniques.

Over the four weeks, you will learn a variety of hand building techniques and be introduced to various strategies for creating surface decoration. From all-over patterns to focusing on a single image, we will explore the potential in the application of simple line work on three-dimensional forms and create beautiful and useful decorative objects.

No drawing experience necessary! Examples images and pieces will be provided, but coming to class with your own ideas and images is encouraged!
