Emily is a functional potter with a strong foundation in wheel-thrown pieces and a growing taste for the freedom offered by handbuilding, marked by a healthy respect for both technical skill and happy accident.
"I’m interested in that creative space where control butts up against chaos, where letting go becomes just as important as holding on. Delight in getting really, truly dirty. Finding community and purpose. Throwing big. Throwing bigger. Putting a good pot to use. These are some of the joys that clay has brought me. I try, in turn, to bring that joy and energy to my classes and to the pieces I create."
