Hintonburg Pottery invites members of the community to participate in ‘Pottery In The Pandemic – Keep Creating Together’, as part of the Love Wellington West BIA campaign during COVID-19, with five percent of proceeds going to Parkdale Food Centre.
Within less than 24 hours of launching the crowdfunding campaign, Hintonburg Pottery is well on its way to reaching their goal of $6,000 to support day-to-day operations of the studio.
“We’ve been absolutely stunned by the generosity of our loyal patrons and local community since the shutdown began in March 2020. They’ve checked in on us, tuned in to watch us on the news, shopped with us using curbside pickup and registered for classes as we slowly released them. This is our small way of continuing to offer them a unique opportunity to practice their creativity safely, while giving back to an important local organization,” says Ginger McCoy, Potter and Owner of Hintonburg Pottery.
“In previous years, our annual Holiday Open House fundraising events have provided many Christmas meals for Parkdale Food Centre and we’re hoping to continue this partnership through the generosity of our creative community.”
Supporters can select a dollar amount they'd like to donate or choose from three unique rewards, for those interested in using the magic of clay to create something extra special during these times:
- $60 or more = Classic Mug & Heart Ornament (60 available)
- $120 or more = 'Clay At Home' Handbuilding Kit (100 available)
- $250 or more = Private Lesson In Studio (20 available)
The campaign runs until early October 2020, with all rewards intended to be distributed through curbside pickup at the shop and private lessons booked in the studio.
